INTRODUCTION TO ACTING: The basic acting skills to build characters, gain confidence and bring out your unique qualities as an actor.
Whether you’re interested in acting for film, TV, theatre, commercials or voice overs, there are certain basic skills and techniques that you need to give your work a solid foundation.
Over the course of 6 classes you will work on, among other things:
* Simple voice and speech exercises
* Relaxation and physicality
* Viola Spolin games/improvisation
* Basic scene work
* Character and scene details to explore, no matter the job
A major focus of this class will be the art/skill of focusing, listening and communicating.
Although this is a beginner class and only 6 sessions, its aim is to give you a jumping off place from which to continue your development as an actor, no matter which medium you decide to focus on.

Learn from Peter Trencher, Actor/Acting Coach
Peter Trencher has been an actor, coach and casting director for over 40 years. He studied acting a Carnegie Mellon University, Amherst & Smith Colleges, and with Michael Shurtleff, Wynn Handman and Anita Jesse, among others. He has worked as an actor and casting director in all media, and has coached actors in L.A. and NY. His “method” derives from the most useful and effective techniques and principles he has learned and put to use in his many years of experience.
